This kind of rise is relatively clean. I haven’t seen the kind of drag that comes from accumulated funding fees. Combined with the open interest of 96,000 contracts, the price breaking upward while positions increase at the same time suggests real capital is coming in—not just a pump driven purely by sentiment. Judging by the single price signal, this looks like a fairly healthy structure for an uptrend.
The problem is that the pace of the rise is too fast. A move of more than a dozen percentage points hasn’t had enough turnover, so short-term profit-taking can easily build up. Since I’m a derivatives contract trader, I would follow this setup, but I can’t take a heavy position.
Direction: Long. Multiplier: 3x. Stop-loss: 29.5. If it falls below, it means the breakout failed. Take-profit: 38. Near the previous high, cut the position in half first. Position size: Start with 10% of total capital.
If the price pulls back to 30.5 and can still hold, I’ll add to reach 15%. If it breaks below 29.5, I’ll exit immediately—I won’t guess the bottom.
