Verify current data in P2P Radar

In P2P trading in Venezuela, the spread is the word you hear in every conversation about buying or selling USDT, but that few understand in depth. Today, August 28, 2026, the data from PitbullChain's P2P Radar and the aggregated order book let you see in real time how this indicator behaves. Here we explain what it means, why the radar spread is not the same as the order book spread, and how you can use this information to make your trades more efficient.

📊 What is the spread in P2P trading?

The spread is the difference between the highest price a buyer is willing to pay for USDT and the lowest price a seller is willing to accept. In simple terms: it’s the gap between what it costs to buy and what you receive when you sell. The higher the spread, the more expensive it is to trade, because you pay more to buy and receive less to sell. That’s why understanding the spread is key to not losing money along the way.

In P2P, the spread is not a fixed number. It changes depending on supply and demand, each bank’s liquidity, and even the time of day. But there are two ways to measure it: the aggregated spread (what you see on the radar) and the order book spread (what you see in the live order book). Both are useful, but they serve different purposes.

📈 Radar spread vs. order book spread: which one should you use?

The radar spread is an average calculated from all the available buy and sell offers on P2P exchanges (Binance, other platforms, etc.). It includes ads with different amounts, banks, and conditions. That’s why it’s usually wider than the real spread you can get if you choose the best offer at the moment.

The order book spread, on the other hand, is the difference between the best sell price (best ask) and the best buy price (best bid) at an exact moment. It’s what you can actually execute if you trade right away. In PitbullChain’s aggregated order book, for example, we see the price levels along with the amount of USDT available at each one. It’s the most accurate tool for trading because it shows the real cost of your order.

🔎 A real example with today’s data

To make it clear, take a look at these data points captured at 5:30 a.m. today:

• P2P radar (USDT/VES): buy price (you buy USDT) at 957.28 VES; sell price (you sell USDT) at 901.20 VES. Spread: 56.07 VES (6.22%).

• Aggregated order book: best ask (buy USDT) at 940 VES; best bid (sell USDT) at 937.50 VES. Spread: 2.50 VES (0.27%).

Notice the difference? If you use the radar spread, the gap between buying and selling is huge. But if you look at the order book, the spread shrinks dramatically. That means when you trade, you can get prices much closer to the midpoint suggested by the radar.

Let’s do a numerical example: if you want to buy 100 USDT, using the radar price you’d pay 95,728 VES; using the best ask in the order book, you pay 94,000 VES. You save 1,728 VES. If you sell 100 USDT, with the radar you’d receive 90,120 VES; with the best bid in the order book, you receive 93,750 VES. That’s 3,630 VES more. In large trades, the difference multiplies.

💰 How to use the spread to your advantage when buying or selling USDT?

It’s not about predicting the market, but about trading with the best information available. Here are some practical recommendations:

• Compare the radar with the order book: if the radar spread is much wider than the order book’s, it means there are very different offers out there. Take a few seconds to review the best offers on your exchange.

• Look at the best ask and the best bid: for buying, look for the lowest ask that has good reputation and appropriate limits. For selling, look for the highest bid that meets your requirements.

• Use the bank filters: each bank has its own liquidity and spread. In today’s data, for example, Banesco has a spread of 16.55 VES (1.78%), while Banco de Venezuela and BANK show much smaller spreads: 7.45 and 7.03 VES respectively. Choosing the right bank can reduce your cost.
