BTC market cap $1.63 trillion, Tesla $1.44 trillion.
BTC ranks 12th globally, and Tesla is behind it.
This is a bit subtle—because earlier this year, BTC’s market cap lagged behind Tesla and it was kicked out of the top 15. The April data: BTC $1.37 trillion, Tesla $1.39 trillion, a difference of $20 billion.
Then BTC surged from there to $81,000, while Tesla fell from its early-year peak of $498 to $364 today.
The two assets took completely opposite paths.
Elon Musk is both Tesla’s CEO and a major holder of BTC—his company is down, but the BTC he holds is up. I don’t know what he’s thinking, but this picture is pretty interesting.
What’s next up? The 11th is Google’s parent company, Alphabet, with a market cap of about $1.9 trillion. BTC is now short by about $270 billion.
It’s not out of reach, but it’s not something that will happen today or tomorrow.
This year’s all-time high is $126,000. Now it’s $81,000, still 36% away.
In Tesla’s drop from $498 to over $350, did you rotate into BTC?
