20000 Chinese characters captured in a week with voice notes—this isn’t an efficiency trick; it’s finding the way of thinking that truly belongs to you.

The latest episode of the podcast is a bit all over the place, but there’s a single thread running through it: in an era of rapid change, how do you slowly accumulate what’s truly yours?

We talked about a few things:

🎙️ In the first week, my voice notes captured 20,000 characters—turning into a blog post, turning into a thread. The key is that you don’t need to sit at your desk for more than half an hour. Many people say they don’t have time to write, but really it’s that they haven’t found a capture method that fits them.

📺 The past two YouTube episodes have focused on practical AI tutorials, and the views are totally on a different level compared to before. That’s a signal—I’m going to keep going in that direction.

💼 The classic interview question “Where will you be in five years?” isn’t asked much anymore, because the people asking don’t even know the answer themselves. But after it evolves, it’s still meaningful: what abilities do you have right now that will help you deal with the changes ahead? That question still deserves serious thought.

🔥 A 40% layoff at Block made me think of myself—laid off in 2020, and then going through the Xero layoffs again in 2023. I want to say to anyone going through this: it’s not your problem; it’s the company’s financial decision. But you are not just a resource—you’re a person. It’s time to start doing something now.
