NYSE watches Avalanche 24/7: Looks good ≠ already signed

In its own retelling of ICE / NYSE executive Blaugrund, Avalanche said that when building an ATS and evaluating the platform, Avalanche “met a lot of conditions,” so it “has been in very close contact with the team.” It sounds like an announcement, but in reality it’s still at the assessment stage.

ICE said back in January that it wants to build a tokenized securities platform—24/7, instant settlement, stablecoin deposits—and it still needs regulatory approval. Blaugrund’s exact words were that it evaluated several companies and Avalanche checked off many requirements; it’s not “already selected.” The ATS itself is still under development, and any publicly shared cooperation contract has not been finalized.

Don’t fall for the illusion of “you can buy NYSE stocks on Avalanche tomorrow.” Until the chain selection is locked in and the licenses are approved, don’t treat a “looks like a match” tweet as a purchase order.
