President Trump said that he told Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Walsh that, on today’s interest rate hike issue, he “voted with the board,” because “it won’t make any difference”🇺🇸
When asked whether he still has confidence in Walsh, Trump said yes, and then he criticized other members of the Federal Reserve.
“He has a very difficult board. That board has been staffed with many people. And the interest rates are too high. That’s not appropriate.”
“The board is very hostile. They are very politicized. They have done things wrong.”
“We should pay the lowest interest rates in the world because we have the strongest credit.”
He also said that the United States could eliminate each country’s deficit through “a single write-off,” earning $1.5 trillion per year from it, but “we have not yet chosen to do that.”
