The U.S. Congressional Budget Office released a report on the 15th estimating that, as of August 1, the U.S. Department of Defense would spend about $38 billion on the Iran conflict over the next five months; if the fighting continues at the low-intensity levels seen in May and June this year, the “burn rate” is expected to be about $2 billion per month; if it reaches the higher intensity level seen in July, the “burn rate” would be $3 billion per month.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard downs a U.S. MQ-9 drone
