Zcash is participating in the privacy-preserving vote for the next major network upgrade, NU7, with about 2.4 million ZEC, accounting for roughly two-thirds of the tokens eligible to vote.
Voters support shortening the block time to 25 seconds, keeping the Bitcoin-style halving plan, and rolling out NU7 as soon as possible. They also support delaying the re-issuance of fees collected by the network sustainability mechanism until February 2031, and disabling transactions related to the deprecated Sprout privacy system.
