Last night, the “CLARITY Act” stalled in the Senate and failed to secure enough votes. The broader market then saw a pullback as well. At the moment, the overall rebound remains rather weak. After the drop, the market has temporarily moved into a sideways consolidation, but there are still no clearly visible signals of a bottoming out. In the near term, it’s still important to guard against a further dip.
Right now, what the market is truly focused on is the U.S. interest rate decision early tonight, followed by remarks from the Federal Reserve Chair, Waller. Current market expectations for rate hikes are already relatively high. So if the final decision includes more hikes, it would likely align with expectations; however, risk assets could still face pressure in the short term. Conversely, if rates are kept unchanged, it could trigger a rebound that exceeds expectations.
Therefore, before the news is released, my personal view is still cautious. For the short term, I would mainly focus on intraday trading. I don’t recommend going all-in or taking a heavily weighted directional bet in advance. Wait until the rate outcome and Waller’s speech are out, then choose a direction based on the market’s actual price action—it will be more reliable.
From a technical perspective, I personally remain somewhat bearish. The BTC daily chart has already broken below the prior trading range. If it keeps failing to reclaim that level, and combined with tonight’s somewhat bearish catalysts, it would be very easy for the broader market to accelerate further downward.
BTC: Focus on around 73,500
ETH: Watch around 2,280
SOL: Watch around 93
Tonight is a relatively critical time window, so for contract trading, it’s suggested to reassess after the interest rate decision lands and after Waller finishes speaking.
