Tonight, the U.S. August CPI data is coming out. The market expects a year-over-year rise of 3.4%, with core CPI up 0.2% month-over-month. Once the data comes in above expectations, the probability of a September rate hike could instantly spike past 71%.
Take a look at the current market: BTC has been repeatedly trading back and forth in the 76,500–78,500 range. The sell wall and lack of volume above 80K is putting very strong pressure. If 76,500 breaks down, it directly points to the 74,000 monthly-line watershed.
ETF flows are being used to support the market, but in the short term they can’t withstand the brutal liquidity pull from macro interest rates.
