ChainCatcher message, according to AML Intelligence: the European Commission has adopted a delegated act to expand the “Central Contact Point” (CCP) framework to crypto-asset service providers (CASPs), granting member states’ regulators the authority to require institutions such as crypto exchanges operating in their respective countries to designate a local contact responsible person.
Previously, this framework applied only to e-money institutions and payment institutions. After the revision, crypto service providers will be incorporated into the anti–money laundering and compliance supervision network, so that regulators can obtain a fixed in-country point of contact, strengthen information sharing, and improve law-enforcement coordination.
