📊 3 BIG STORIES THIS WEEK:
→ 🌎 Macro: Inflation, jobs, oil & real yields
→ 🏦 TradFi: ETF, RWA & institutional flows
→ ⛓️ Crypto: L2 wars, HYPE & meme coins
📊 The Market Angle:
🌎 AI DEFLATION VS. INFLATION
US employment data remains relatively strong, but Cathie Wood is betting on technology-driven deflation.
She expects oil prices could fall toward $30, while technology capex has reached its highest level in 20 years.
🤖 Meanwhile, GPU demand remains extremely strong:
→ B200: +5.94%
→ H100: +6.62%
→ RTX 5090: +18.87% this week
The weird part?
AI is simultaneously burning massive amounts of capital today while potentially creating significant deflationary pressure over the longer term.
🏦 TRADFI IS COMING ON-CHAIN
HYPE continues attracting institutional attention through spot ETF products.
UBS, Jane Street, Bank of Montreal and OLP Capital Management reportedly hold roughly $75M in HYPE through ETFs.
🔥 Bitwise BHYP also bought another $10.5M HYPE, pushing total assets to around $166.3M.
Meanwhile, Robinhood Chain is reportedly generating around $6M in fees per day.
This is becoming bigger than a simple “number go up” narrative.
Traditional finance is increasingly looking for ways to capture value directly from blockchain infrastructure.
⚔️ THE L2 FEE WAR
Robinhood Chain has become a new battleground between Solana and Arbitrum.
Robinhood reportedly keeps around 90% of gas fees generated through Arbitrum Orbit, with roughly 10% flowing back to the Arbitrum ecosystem.
Solana argues that the same model could potentially be structured more efficiently on Solana.
Arbitrum, meanwhile, is basically defending its “landlord” model. 💀
But the bigger question isn’t which chain wins the argument.
It is:
Who actually captures the economic value when companies bring millions of users on-chain?
🐸 MEME COINS ARE BACK
MARSCOIN and PONS became two of the week’s notable meme coin stories.
🐋 The trader known as “Bonk Guy” is reportedly sitting on a portfolio worth around $27M, largely concentrated in PONS and MARSCOIN.
🔥 StonkFun also launched on Raydium, while Robinhood Chain’s DEX volume reportedly surpassed Solana over a 24-hour period.
Meanwhile, Pump.fun is seeing revenue pressure as activity starts rotating toward competing launchpads.
BNB Chain watching from the corner:
“My turn.” 💀
👀 SO WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS?
There wasn’t one dominant narrative this week.
🌎 Macro is still waiting for clearer signals from inflation, oil and employment.
🏦 TradFi continues moving deeper into crypto through ETFs and RWA.
⚔️ Crypto-native ecosystems are fighting over fees, liquidity and user distribution.
🐸 And meme coins continue proving that liquidity can disappear from one narrative and suddenly reappear somewhere completely different.
💭 My take: the biggest question isn’t “Which coin will pump?”
It’s WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO NEXT?
