BTC has been chopping around all week, signaling something ominous. Public self-review: 7 trades closed, 3 wins and 4 losses 💀, hit rate only 42.9%. Honestly admitting that I didn’t read the market well this week.
Going into the details of the failed trades: ZEC LONG 834.53 broke structure at 810 at noon on 2/9. I should have noticed the weakening signals earlier. SUI SHORT 0.712 was reversed, breaking above 0.745 on the evening of 2/9; I underestimated the rebound strength. TRUMP LONG 2.584 got lightly "wrecked" when the invalidation at 2.420 was broken on the night of 30/8, due to not being strict enough with capital management. DEXE LONG 2.477 also got hit, falling below 2.180 on the evening of 30/8. I was too hasty entering without waiting for a clear breakout confirmation, thinking I was picking spot at the bottom, only to get caught in a trap 😅.
The three winning trades: $BNB LONG 692.56 touched 725 in the afternoon of 3/9. PROMUSDT SHORT 5.385 moved down to 4.9 on the night of 1/9. NIL LONG 0.05283 touched 0.055 on the night of 29/8. These trades played out exactly as planned, nothing much to boast about. 🙏
The biggest lesson this week is absolute discipline with invalidation, and better capital allocation. Sideways markets are easy to get fooled by, so don’t rush to believe fake breakouts.
