Options traders are going quiet.

Call volume just hit a 5-month low at ~6.6M contracts (5-day avg). That's down 20% since mid-July.

Put volume? Even worse. Lowest since February at ~5.3M.

The call-to-put ratio is now 1.25x—near a 5-year high. We've only seen it this elevated 11% of the time since 2010.

What this tells us: The market is in wait-and-see mode. No one's making big directional bets. Volume dries up when conviction dies.

Traders are sitting on their hands, waiting for the next real catalyst to show up. Until then, it's a low-conviction drift.
