ChainCatcher message, according to Bloomberg, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in July signed a one-year, non-bid contract worth $95 million with crypto analytics company TRM Labs to provide cryptocurrency tracking software and data analytics labor in support of the White House’s efforts to combat crypto scams and cybercrime targeting U.S. residents.

Competitor Chainalysis has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over the contract, alleging that the award process was “arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable.” In public statements, the U.S. side said that TRM is the “only vendor that can provide the complete technical, data, and operational support services required.”
