The interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, said that a new energy agreement between the United States and Venezuela will last for 25 years and aims to raise oil production to more than 1.5 million barrels per day.
The agreement covers 17 oil fields and 8 new exploration areas, while Venezuela retains ownership of its resources.
Rodríguez said the deal could generate about $209 billion in state revenues and help revive the country’s energy sector.
