๐Ÿ“Œ SEC OPENS THE DOOR FOR ICOs, BUT IS THE MARKET STILL EXCITED?
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The SEC has just proposed a new framework that would allow crypto projects to raise funds via legal tokens in the U.S., reducing some of the barriers that previously made ICOs difficult to launch.
๐Ÿ‘‰ But the market today is very different. In 2018, a whitepaper plus a compelling enough story could still pull in billions of USD. In Q1 2018 alone, ICO projects raised around $3B.
๐Ÿ“Š Now, capital flows are focused more on Bitcoin, large-cap tokens, futures, prediction markets, and AI stocks. Even many crypto funds are shifting their attention to AI and robots.
โš ๏ธ In my opinion, clearer regulation is definitely good news for the industry. But having laws doesnโ€™t necessarily mean there will be liquidity. The SEC may reopen the door for ICOs, but whether investors want to walk inโ€”thatโ€™s a totally different story.
