Last night’s PCE data shifted the focus to the meeting on Friday night. Nvidia’s earnings report is relatively strong. The price is ranging and consolidating at high levels; compared with the trend from the past few days, opportunities are appearing on smaller timeframes.

First, the conclusion: Today’s intraday approach is mainly range trading, with occasional low-buy opportunities as a supplement.

1. Pull back to 2466: On the 5-minute chart, buy when there’s a bullish engulfing (a positive candle that engulfs a negative one). Also, 2390 below is a very good spot to go long.

2. The upside at 2558: On the 5-minute chart, sell when there’s a downward spike followed by a bearish engulfing (an inverse engulfing). There may be short opportunities at the key larger-timeframe resistance levels.

In a range, don’t take action unless you reach a key level—stay patient.
