📊 US Unemployment Data + Fed Speeches: What Does It Mean for Crypto?

The July unemployment rate eased to 4.1%, but nonfarm payrolls came in at -23K (expectations were around +80K).

Weekly initial jobless claims also fell to 203K → layoffs are still very low. The Fed funds rate remains on hold in the 3.50–3.75% range. New Chair Kevin Warsh is using a hawkish tone: “There’s no soft inflation target.”

Crypto summary:
- The labor market is weak but not collapsing → an aggressive rate cut is difficult
- If inflation proves stubborn, the possibility of a rate hike is on the table
- Jackson Hole speeches (especially Warsh) and the September FOMC are critical; in the short term, volatility may stay elevated. Bitcoin’s moves around 80K are largely driven by macro expectations.

What do you think the Fed will do in September?

Hold, or a hike?
