Hyperliquid converts $USDC yield into $HYPE deflation
Starting today, @HyperliquidX will begin accumulating revenue from USDC reserves via AQAv2.
Key mechanisms:
• Stablecoin reserve revenue is shared with Hyperliquid
• After operating costs, approximately 90% of reserve revenue can flow into the protocol
• Revenue accrues once every 30 days
• Funds are sent to the Assistance Fund (AF)
• AF uses them to buy HYPE from the market
• The purchased HYPE is then permanently burned
The first batch of proceeds will start on August 26, with the first actual payment expected on October 3.
Huge potential.
Based on the current USDC supply and reserve yield, market estimates suggest this could generate roughly $135M to $160M in annualized revenue for hyperliquid:native buybacks.
