August 26: Tsai Wen-sheng’s Hong Kong sharing: don’t wait for VC—if you have pain points, just do it
CAI Mansion owner and Longling Capital’s Tsai Wen-sheng shared several viewpoints at the event:
1. For innovation-driven startups, you must come to Hong Kong. Policies, funding, and talent—Hong Kong is the bridge connecting the East and the West.
2. If starting a business involves pain points, tackle them directly. Don’t wait for VC. And don’t immediately start by thinking about obtaining licenses/permits. First, run and validate the model; when expanding, then seek financing.
3. Web3 requires patience. While others are working on AI, you keep insisting on building Web3—the pendulum will eventually swing back. Like Bitcoin: it stays hidden and will surely wait for your own cycle.
The market’s hot trends rotate. Only those who can afford patience can capture the full set of dividends.
