$TAC sudden security incident: The TAC Protocol suffered a major blow due to a Cosmos EVM precompile vulnerability. Approximately 3 billion TAC were stolen, and block production has been paused.

The vulnerability stems from multiple security flaws in the shared module, including an integer underflow issue in the staking precompile. Combined with delayed patch releases, this ultimately led to multiple chains being attacked.

After the security incident, market confidence was severely damaged. Within 24 hours, the coin price crashed by more than 50%. The current price is $0.00264, and the market cap has shrunk to 12.69M.

Under the architecture of interconnection in the Cosmos ecosystem, the security risks of shared modules are worth every project’s vigilance—one vulnerability can trigger a chain reaction. We hope the team can provide subsequent remediation and compensation plans as soon as possible to recover users’ losses to the greatest extent.
