Today, many tech enthusiasts and consumers discovered that the “SKhynix flagship store” they had frequently visited is suddenly nowhere to be found. When they clicked on the saved store link from earlier, the homepage only showed a prominent announcement: the store plans to independently terminate operations on September 9, 2026. At present, all products in the store have already been removed.

This message quickly spread throughout digital communities. Previously, many users had purchased hardware products from this store, such as SK Hynix memory modules, SSD solid-state drives, and storage modules. These types of digital hardware generally come with an unusually long warranty period of 3–5 years, and many devices are still within the official warranty period. The store’s sudden shutdown has left everyone worried: who will handle after-sales service for the products in hand? Can the promised maintenance and repair services still be fulfilled?

As the news gained momentum, some netizens found that on the Tmall platform there is still a store called “SKHY Flagship Store,” which is operating normally and selling storage products related to SK Hynix. This left many consumers confused: Is this store the official successor replacing the closed one? Can it handle future after-sales service?

It is reported that the operating entity of this SKHY store is Tianjin Hailix Technology Co., Ltd. The company was established in July 2020 with a registered capital of 1 million yuan. Its business scope includes general categories such as technical services and sales of mechanical equipment. At present, there is no public information to substantiate any direct official affiliation between this store and SK Hynix’s headquarters, nor has the brand owner given a clear explanation of the specific relationship between the two.

Another informed source revealed that the SKhynix flagship store that was shut down this time is essentially a normal termination of the cooperation after the brand authorization expired, not a retreat of an official brand-owned直营 store. Previously, the store relied on brand authorization to carry out sales. Once the authorization expired, the brand owner did not renew it, so the store chose to remove all products from sale and stop operations. The other stores currently selling on the platform are all third-party distributors. They are independent from the store that was shut down, and their after-sales service systems are not interchangeable.

Regarding the warranty and after-sales issue that everyone is most concerned about, official Tmall customer service has also provided a clear solution: even if a store officially closes, as long as the consumer’s order is still within its after-sales warranty period, their rights and interests are still protected by the platform. Users can directly initiate after-sales requests such as repair, exchange, or refund on the details page of their historical orders. If an order has no after-sales entry, the merchant cannot respond, or refuses to handle it, consumers can keep their purchase records, screenshots of warranty promises, and product documentation, and proactively contact Tmall’s official customer service for assistance. The platform will follow up to resolve the matter according to transaction rules.

Meanwhile, customer service also reminds everyone that all SK Hynix-related third-party distributor stores in the market are independently responsible for after-sales service of their own products. They do not accept after-sales orders for the stores that were shut down this time. Do not blindly trust the after-sales handover claims of stores with the same name, to avoid having your rights and interests harmed.

Behind this store closure, it may reflect SK Hynix’s strategic readjustment in the consumer market.

In January 2026, rumors circulated in the market that SK Hynix was considering withdrawing production capacity from the low-margin consumer segment. At the time, relevant personnel from SK Hynix responded that “there is no such plan.”

However, after this brand authorization expires, it will not be renewed. Combined with SK Hynix’s continued contraction in consumer retail channels, it has still sparked speculation from the outside about strategic adjustments. Media reports say that the closure of the aforementioned stores may be related to SK Hynix brand scaling back its personal-consumer business.

In the global storage chip market, demand for high-profit products driven by AI—such as HBM (high-bandwidth memory)—is growing explosively. SK Hynix’s operating profit increased 557% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, and revenue rose 257% year-on-year. Against a backdrop of strong demand and tight supply for AI server storage chips, channeling more capacity and resources to the high-margin enterprise market has become a common choice among storage giants.

As of the time of publication, SK Hynix China’s official account has not yet released a complete public explanation regarding this consumer-channel adjustment. We will continue to follow up on any subsequent official information and share the latest after-sales guidance with everyone as soon as possible.
