#dusk $DUSK Today I chatted with a friend about Web3 hardware acceleration (ZK Hardware Acceleration). He calculated the compute power budget from the perspective of physical chips: @Dusk . #dusk

At the lowest layer, Dusk uses extremely advanced but computationally intensive elliptic curves and cryptographic primitives. To generate and verify ZK-SNARK proofs that include complex compliance logic within seconds, the efficiency of ordinary CPU computation has gradually started to hit a ceiling.

In future high-concurrency trading scenarios, in order to get the high-performance Provisioner nodes running, it becomes highly dependent on GPU acceleration and even dedicated ASIC/FPGA hardware acceleration cards. $DUSK

This directly pushes the node compute power arms race to an entirely new level: it will become increasingly difficult for ordinary developers running nodes on home computers, while data centers equipped with professional hardware-accelerated compute power will ultimately dominate block production.

Hardware acceleration may bring Dusk’s transaction processing speed to the extreme, delivering settlement experiences comparable to traditional finance—but it also exacerbates the physical centralization of consensus compute. The high cost of hardware investment becomes a natural barrier for retail participants to run nodes. Between the ideal of decentralization and financial-grade high performance, physical laws are always brutally in the middle.
