$SNDK $XAU $LITE US stock market pre-market: Storage and optical communications lead declines

All three major index futures fall together. U.S. index futures decline: Dow futures down 0.10%, Nasdaq futures down 0.73%, and S&P 500 index futures down 0.22%.

Storage chip shares slide. Western Digital is down 3.25%, SanDisk down 4.94%, SK hynix down 3.37%, Seagate Technology down 3.53%, and Micron Technology down 3.97%.

U.S. optical communications sector trades lower before the market opens. Coherent down more than 5%, Lumentum down nearly 5%, and Marvell Technology and Corning down about 4%.

As for the “Magnificent Seven,” Apple is down 0.03%, Nvidia down 0.07%, Microsoft up 0.18%, Amazon down 0.40%, Google down 0.69%, Meta down 0.13%, and Tesla down 0.51%.

International oil prices fall more than 1%. WTI crude oil futures drop 1.79% to $85.50 per barrel; Brent crude oil futures fall 1.48% to $91.30 per barrel.

Gold and silver prices diverge. London spot gold rises 0.83% to $4,640.99 per ounce; London spot silver falls 0.09% to $68.891 per ounce.

The U.S. Treasury Secretary says the U.S.-Iran conflict has entered the “endgame.” U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said on social media on the evening of the 23rd that the war between the U.S. and Iran is entering the “endgame,” vowing to cut off “every single economic lifeline” of the Iranian regime until Tehran is left “without support.”
