When it goes up, you want to chase—that’s the first layer of thinking.
The second layer is to ask one question: who is selling?
In *The Most Important Thing in Investing*, Howard repeatedly talks about the second layer of thinking.
Today, $ETH 2,373; in the past 24 hours it’s down 2.73%, with trading volume of 844 million USDT.
In a slow, downward drifting market, buyers aren’t panicking, and sellers aren’t stopping.
These more-than-8 billion in volume can’t be dumped by retail traders.
First-layer thinking sees: “It’s down—run quickly.”
Second-layer thinking sees: “At this level, what is the seller switching to?”
The book gives an example.
First-layer thinking says: “The company is good—buy.”
Second-layer thinking says: “The company is good, but if everyone says it’s good, then the price is expensive.”
Swap “company” with $ETH and it’s the same.
I won’t guess the direction, but this question is more interesting than the candlestick chart.
I saved this—I'll verify it later.
