#binancep2pantoan @Binance Vietnam I transferred short by almost half a million, yet they still kept pressing “paid” and demanded I release.
That day I sold 500 USDT, total value 13,550,000 VND. Just a few minutes later, the counterparty messaged: “I already transferred the money. Please check and release for me.”
I wasn’t in a hurry. When I opened my banking app to check, I saw only 13,055,000 VND — missing exactly 495,000 VND.
At this point, many people get swayed. Since the counterparty has marked it as paid, the chat is polite, and they even gently urged me. But I still stick to my rules: Only release when the received amount matches the order exactly.
I replied right away in the order chat, clearly stating the missing amount and asking the counterparty to double-check. The crypto remains safely in escrow. I didn’t release, and I didn’t handle anything off-platform.
This is a very common situation for beginners. They often think: “The money has already come in almost enough, so it should be fine.” But in P2P, even a shortfall of a few hundred thousand VND is still a risk. Once you’ve released, getting back the remaining amount becomes much harder.
From that time on, I learned a few very clear points:
• Absolutely don’t rely on a message saying “transferred” or a screenshot.
• You must open your banking app yourself to check the actual balance.
• The amount must match every single unit with the order.
• All communication stays in the order chat.
• If it doesn’t match, pause and ask for proper handling, or open an Appeal if needed.
Escrow exists exactly to give me time to check carefully. A few seconds faster is sometimes not worth losing money.
What would you do if the funds come in short compared to the order?
