8.19 Gold Rush Customer Evening Review: The V-shaped rebound is a trap for the shorts! Gold’s oversold rebound won’t change the weak trend

Gold staged a rebound to repair the dip within the day. In the morning, prices probed down to the 4324 area, then stabilized and stopped falling. In the afternoon, buying pressure gradually released, pushing the price higher step by step. Late in the evening, it surged to the 4374 area high. Overall, this is a technical rebound after a sharp sell-off. In the short term, bullish momentum is still steadily releasing, but it has not been able to shake the broader bearish structure.

On the 10-minute chart, a V-shaped rebound structure formed, partially covering earlier losses. The 4324 zone has been reinforced as near-term support. The 4374–4380 range overhead is the key resistance area. Short-term moving averages have turned upward to provide support, and the MACD histogram continues to expand in red, meaning short-term bulls have the upper hand for now. However, in the larger timeframe, the downtrend has not shown any reversal signals yet.

Plan to place short positions in the 4370–4390 range, with targets at 4350 and 4320.
