Last night, US stocks saw a shift in risk appetite that was well worth paying attention to.
The semiconductor sector is clearly weakening:
MU -7%
SNDK -9%
NVDA -2.3%
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq fell by about 1.33%, and the SOX semiconductor index dropped by about 5%.
When many people see this kind of trend, their first reaction is:
Has the AI rally ended?
I, on the other hand, won’t jump to conclusions so quickly.
Because for this kind of high-beta sector, what I care more about is:
After the sharp drop, can the price regain the key structure?
Right now, I’m focusing on three things:
① MU / SNDK
These are important barometers for AI memory and storage trading.
If after a big drop the market quickly regains key support, it suggests funds may only be rotating/high-level churning.
but if the bounce lacks strength and key support continues to break:
AI funds may be truly reducing risk exposure.
② NVDA
NVDA is my core observation object for judging AI risk appetite.
If NVDA can stop falling first and turn back to strength, MU, SNDK, and other high-beta names may see a rebound/repair.
conversely, if NVDA keeps weakening:
I won’t easily judge that the AI sector has already returned to an aggressive mode.
③ Nasdaq
This is the one I care about most.
because what truly determines risk appetite isn’t one stock.
instead:
NASDAQ → Semiconductors → BTC
Can this chain of risk assets turn back to strength?
So my view right now is not:
The AI bull market is over.
nor is it:
A crash is a buy-the-dip opportunity.
instead:
First, let the market prove itself.
If:
NASDAQ stops falling
NVDA turns back to strength
MU / SNDK recapture key levels
then this selloff is more likely a high-level shakeout / risk release.
But if all three market signals keep worsening:
I’ll interpret it as Risk-Off, not just a simple pullback.
this is also important for BTC.
because if US high-beta assets keep withdrawing, it’ll be even harder for BTC to independently form a strong trend.
So going forward I’ll watch both:
NASDAQ
NVDA
MU
SNDK
and also:
BTC
What’s really worth trading isn’t predicting the bottom.
instead, wait:
Risk appetite is confirmed again.
You think this AI semiconductors selloff is:
A: high-level shakeout
B: trend weakens
C: unclear for now—wait for confirmation
