Yesterday I went short on SOL, and got slapped in the face.
SOL is now 76.99, up 1.38%, and is stuck just below 77.41.
Last night’s 75.20 didn’t break, and it pulled straight up.
MA5 is 76.97, MA20 is 76.59, and price is trading above the moving averages.
Trading volume is 111 million USDT—only about half of the 20-day average. That’s the most unusual part.
RSI is 69.5, just one step away from overbought.
MACD DIF is 0.328, still above the zero line.
The Bollinger Bands are tightening; the bandwidth is 3.2%. Price is running along the upper band.
It tried to touch the previous high on low volume—that’s a short-lived kind of move.
77.41 is yesterday’s resistance. If it can’t break through, it will likely pull back to the 75.05 small support area.
Once 75.05 breaks, the stop-losses around 74.58 will likely get triggered and “dump” out.
This area is between the prior high and a dense zone. Just saying it off the cuff—do your own due diligence.
I’m leaning bullish here, but volume hasn’t kept up; I’m waiting for a pullback.
Pull back to 75.05—if it shows a shrinking-volume bounce and stabilizes, then I’ll go long.
Stop-loss at 74.50. If it pushes to 77.30, I’ll exit first.
If it breaks above 77.41 on rising volume, I won’t chase—I'll wait for a pullback and then go up.
If it directly breaks below 75.05, that suggests the low-volume move was a bull trap, and the plan is invalid.
What I fear most is a slow grind lower, spending too long around 75.05.
Volume still isn’t keeping up. I can’t read this move with confidence.
Position size is capped at 20%; I won’t add.
