Aggressively buy micro-strategy stocks! Norway’s sovereign wealth fund becomes an invisible giant whale,
indirect exposure to Bitcoin surpasses 11,000 BTC

The world’s largest sovereign wealth fund has also become an “invisible giant whale” in the cryptocurrency market. In its latest analysis, crypto research firm K33 noted that, as of the first half of 2026, Norway’s sovereign wealth fund’s indirect Bitcoin exposure—obtained by holding “coin-hoarding stocks”—had reached 11,549 BTC, worth approximately US$725 million, setting a new all-time high.

According to K33’s report, during this year’s first half, Norway’s sovereign wealth fund’s indirect Bitcoin holdings surged by 21.2%. When extended to the past year, the increase even skyrocketed beyond 60.5%, bringing the total to 11,549 Bitcoin (worth approximately US$725 million). This growth momentum is largely driven by the fund’s substantial investment in publicly traded companies that hold Bitcoin, such as Strategy, Metaplanet, MARA, Coinbase, Block, and Tesla.

Vetle Lunde, head of research at K33, wrote in a post on a social platform in astonishment: “As of the first half of 2026, the indirect Bitcoin exposure of Norway’s central bank investment management unit (NBIM) has reached an all-time high—breaking through the five-digit threshold for the first time, to 11,549 Bitcoin. This marks the sixth consecutive half-year period that the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund has achieved steady growth in its indirect Bitcoin exposure positions.”
