Pretty interesting.

The spot/variable-rate liquidity pool always swings hot and cold, and the fixed-tenor logic is clearly more to the taste of big capital.
Who wants to spend every day anxiously watching the APY plunge?
TermMax turns lending into something like a zero-coupon bond model.
Buy at a discount, redeem at face value at maturity.
The design is quite clever—no messy interest accumulation. What you see is what you get.
But… the options part is probably the real test.
Hardwiring fixed income and derivatives into a single protocol.
What backs the initial liquidity?
Under the hood, it uses a custom AMM.
Traditional market makers probably wouldn’t adapt well here; automated market making can definitely cut a lot of initial friction costs.
To what extent slippage can be controlled—still an open question.
If a large amount of capital really comes in and the underlying asset pool isn’t deep enough, the impact at the exact moment of option exercise and settlement would be absolutely brutal.
Relying entirely on algorithms for option pricing also comes with risk.
The good news is that the oracle pricing mechanism they use seems fairly restrained, so it’s less likely to be hit by malicious needle-threading.
But if you run into extreme one-sided market conditions, it will definitely need a hard-core stress test.
I’ve seen too many similar protocols die under complex models.
TermMax feels like it’s betting on a very minimal hedging need.
