There’s a type of P2P trade that I think once a buyer experiences it, they’ll never forget: the money has been transferred, the bank transaction shows as successful, but the crypto still isn’t there 😂
In the past, I thought P2P on Binance was pretty straightforward. Choose a merchant, place an order, make the bank transfer, the seller confirms, and then you receive USDT. If everything goes normally, it’s done within a few minutes.
But in reality, sometimes it’s different.
One time I bought 1,000 USDT to top up my trading account. After the transfer, I sent the exact information as in the Order, then sat and waited. After a while, the merchant still hadn’t released.
I messaged them and got this:
“Shop is checking the bank transaction. Please wait a few more minutes.”
Alright, I waited.
10 minutes... 30 minutes... then an hour, two hours, and I was still waiting. Before long, I realized five hours had already passed.
At that point, I started getting restless. Not because the amount was too large, but because the money had left my account, yet the USDT was still sitting in a pending/processing state. If at that time I needed the capital to buy a coin dip or to add margin to save a future position from getting liquidated, then that would’ve been a disaster.
I also didn’t think the merchant delaying the release necessarily means they have bad intentions. Maybe they need reconciliation, the bank updates slowly, or they’re simply handling too many transactions.
If I run into a similar situation again, I’ll keep the Order as-is, save proof of the transfer, and communicate directly in the chat window. I won’t cancel the order or send more money just because the merchant asks. Especially, people shouldn’t try to resolve the issue via external platforms outside Binance like Zalo or Telegram. And I think Appeal is a reasonable option if the seller doesn’t respond
