Protecting personal information — Why I say “NO” to sharing Zalo/SMS numbers outside P2P?
When I’m carrying out a high-value P2P order, the seller messages in the Binance chat: “Send your Zalo/SMS number here, and I’ll advise you how to transfer without getting stuck, brother.” Even though it sounds very enthusiastic, I flatly refuse. I know this is a tactic to get users out of Binance’s monitoring and control.
When chatting via Zalo, scammers can send phishing links (spoofed/made-up) or tempt you to transfer money outside the exchange. At that point, Binance will have absolutely no way to provide evidence to protect me if a scam happens.
All exchanges related to P2P transactions MUST be 100% carried out within the official chat window of the Binance app.
Never share your phone number, Zalo, Telegram, or click any suspicious links sent by a counterparty in the chat.
