LOST ASSETS IN ONE NIGHT DUE TO INATTENTION IN P2P SECURITY P2
A sad sleepless night, lost 1k$ in just one night.... because of my own carelessness
That’s the story of one of many of my friends.
Many people think that strong passwords are enough, but hackers and thieves have hundreds of tricks to impersonate you (phishing) and get past you. Set up a 3-layer “armor” for P2P transactions to stay safe at once:
👉 Upgrade Passkey & 2FA: Absolutely don’t rely only on OTP via SMS (very easy to be hit by SIM swapping). Activate Google Authenticator or Passkey (fingerprint/face authentication) before performing any withdrawal or unlocking coins.
👉 Be alert to CS impersonation: Binance NEVER privately messages you asking for an OTP code, a password, or urging you to release coins in the Chat window. Any message claiming to be “Binance Support” and requesting security codes is a SCAM!
👉 Choose partners with the “P2P Shield” label: Prioritize trading with reputable merchants who have a safe verification symbol to minimize risk as much as possible.
