**Psychological Manipulation via FUD: “Impersonation of Police/Exchange” Scams to Force Coins Out of Escrow!**
P2P scams in Vietnam are becoming increasingly sophisticated. The perpetrators don’t just exploit technical loopholes—they fully take advantage of users’ fear (FUD) and lack of legal knowledge.
**Case Study:** After a P2P order is initiated, the scammer proactively transfers money out of the third-party (Third-party) account, then immediately calls/messages the victim, posing as Criminal Police or a Bank Officer. The scammer threatens that “this money is related to a money-laundering case—requesting cancellation of the order or releasing USDT urgently to support the investigation.” The trader panics, follows instructions to handle the matter off-platform, and loses all assets.
**Checklist to Defuse the Manipulation Tactic:**
* **Absolute Calm:** Binance exchange and relevant authorities NEVER contact you via Zalo/Telegram or any personal phone to request coin release or cancellation of a P2P order.
* **Work Only Through Official CS Support:** If you notice any abnormal signs or threats from the counterparty, immediately press the **Dispute (Complaint)** button on Binance so Support can step in and freeze the assets in Escrow.
* **Iron Rule:** Don’t panic over threats, don’t cancel the order once Fiat funds have been deposited into your account, and don’t carry out any refund transactions outside the exchange interface.
If you end up in a scenario where the counterparty threatens you to force cancellation of your P2P order, will you choose to open a Dispute on the exchange—or negotiate on the phone yourself?
