If Dusk really takes off, I won’t bet on “privacy”—I’ll bet on tokenization of European bonds
To be honest, I used to think RWA was a false proposition—I kept hearing about it for years but didn’t see many real projects actually running. But after reading the Dusk whitepaper, especially the section on XSC, I started to change my mind. From the design, Dusk isn’t meant for anonymous transfers for retail users. Its “Security” is securities—not safety.
Why Europe? Because Europe has DLT pilot mechanisms, and regulators have provided a clear sandbox window. Dusk’s main focus is precisely this market. Traditional bond settlement is slow and expensive. It’s not just T+2—there’s also a lot of manual reconciliation in between. With XSC, Dusk can do on-chain atomic settlement: trade equals settlement. It can also achieve auditable privacy—issuers don’t have to disclose the full reserve price, but regulators can verify compliance in real time. That pain point is just too real.
And the breakout won’t be driven by retail users rushing in to buy DUSK and pump the price. It will be driven by institutions’ volumes growing—each issuance, coupon payment, and redemption will truly consume the tokens. That’s the kind of growth that can go far. So now when I observe Dusk, I don’t care which exchange it lists on—I care whether European financial institutions are willing to use it.
Which track do you think is most likely to light a fire under Dusk first?
