BTC dominance throughout the summer forms a potential "Bearish wedge". With the full target around 57.17%. And on August 15, this pattern received very significant confirmation for a possible start of its execution. As mentioned in previous posts, the shift to a sustained downtrend on the daily timeframe. For the first time since the end of May. The base, yet unfulfilled targets: 58.62%, 58.44%.

At the same time, the indicator also shows a potential “bearish low” marker on the daily TF, so if the path down does happen, it again won’t be easy.
It blocks the path down for dominance, and another factor is that since October 2025—starting from the BTC all-time high—it has been forming a larger-scale pattern: the “Bullish wedge.” And if it provides a start to the breakout/working-out in the near term, its full target will be around 64.75%.

First, working out a more local “Bearish wedge,” and then a “Bull wedge” is quite possible. BUT there is one important reference point: the trend of the 2-week timeframe (TF). Since August 2025, with the dominance of #BTC on this TF, there has been a consistent downtrend.

And as long as it remains in place, the June 2025 high of 66.03% will not be rewritten in the near future. An earlier signal-marker will give a 3-day TF, where a downtrend is also still present, formed at the end of May–early June.

Overall, since July 2025, dominance has been trading in a range between key horizontal levels that have been discussed many times: 61.69%, 59.88%, 58.08%. And for most of the time, dominance stays specifically in the 58.08–59.88% zone. Bitcoin maximalists see in this range the formation of a “Bullish pennant,” whose pole has been forming since autumn 2022. And its target—if the breakout/working-out starts—will be over 85% in general. But again: as long as dominance maintains a consistent downtrend on the 2-week TF, this won’t happen.
For altcoins, as before, the level 58.08% is very important. Only a confirmed (! ) move of dominance below it will open prospects for altcoins to grow “across the board.”
