Spent part of today going through a Binance P2P dispute where the seller asked the buyer to send to a different bank account than the one listed in the order. The excuse was a limit issue on the app account. Buyer sent. Escrow couldn't auto match the payment to the verified account, so the order froze waiting on support.
The part that gets overlooked is that Binance P2P already does the heavy lifting here. Every order is tied to one verified receiving account before anyone sends money. If the counterparty tries to route you elsewhere, the chat log captures it and the system warns that payments must stay inside the original order. You still have to press cancel, but the signal is hard to miss.
I keep comparing it to getting a new address mid transaction onchain. You'd stop immediately. Same logic applies to fiat here. The triangulation trap is real though. That wife's account might belong to someone else entirely. Send there and you're now a link in a fraud chain. Your bank account can get frozen months later.
So the choice is simple: waste a minute canceling and find another counterparty, or risk a chain freeze. Binance P2P makes the boundary clear, but no platform can force you to stay inside it. Not sure if there's public data on what share of disputes involve account switching after order creation.
