BlockBeats message, August 16, CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost posted that the amount of Bitcoin supply that can be considered as “lost” has risen to a historical high, currently reaching 3.56 million BTC, or about 17.7% of the circulating supply.

Its reporting standard is BTC that has not moved for more than 10 years. Although in very rare cases some long-dormant Bitcoin may become active again—such as a similar situation that occurred in July 2025—the overall trend is that this portion of long-unmoved supply continues to grow.

In the past 30 days, more than 14,000 BTC has also entered this long-dormant supply range. This trend will naturally reduce the actual amount of Bitcoin supply that is in circulation.
