🔥 Are 5 Vietnamese exchanges ready? Which assets will be listed in the first phase?
According to the latest remarks from representatives of the State Securities Commission (SSC) at the Conviction 2026 event, Vietnam’s stock market is preparing for the launch of five digital asset trading exchanges. Similar to Thailand and South Korea, these exchanges will not support crypto-to-crypto trading, but will only use Vietnamese dong (VND).
The five types of assets to be listed include:
* NFTs (excluding event ticket formats)
* Tokenized commodities (RWA—e.g., cashews, pepper)
* Tokenized cash flows (rental income from real estate, operating income from buildings)
* Tokenized real estate (requires careful review of usage rights approval)
* Green products (e.g., solar energy projects)
Decree 284/2026 will take effect on 01/09/2026. However, enforcement of penalties will only apply once the exchanges officially begin operations. Assets that have not yet been listed may still be traded off-system, but must be registered through a domestic service-providing organization.
Currently, five businesses have had their applications approved. However, the entry barriers are fairly high: exchanges must meet information security safety standards of level 4 and have minimum charter capital of VND 10,000 billion. The launch speed of these exchanges will depend on whether these companies can satisfy the requirements.
