Verified Seller vs Regular User – What’s the Difference Nobody Tells You
When browsing P2P listings, you’ll notice some accounts with a gold badge reading "Verified Seller". Many newcomers think this guarantees 100% safety. The truth is more complicated.
Requirements to become a Verified Seller:
Minimum deposit
Enhanced identity verification
Minimum trading volume within 30 days
Completion rate ≥ 80%
Commitment to Binance’s code of conduct
Pros: Deposited funds—there’s a commitment. Enhanced verification—harder to disappear. More closely monitored by Binance.
But that DOESN’T mean 100% safe:
Truth #1: Even Verified Sellers can have bad days, become mentally unstable, or even have their accounts taken over.
Truth #2: There are large scam networks that maintain “clean” accounts for 6 months and then carry out large-scale fraud within just a few days before getting locked.
Truth #3: Badges can be removed at any time, but older ratings still remain and keep the “good look.”
The correct combination—5 criteria: ✅ Has a Verified badge ✅ 10 most recent reviews are positive ✅ No complaints about "chatting off-app" or "fake receipts" ✅ Bank account name matches the Binance name ✅ Activity > 6 months
Only 5/5 means it turns green. Missing 1 → consider. Missing 2 → skip.
Common mistake: "This person has a badge, so they must be fine"—skip the step of checking the account name.
Golden rule #9: Verified badges reduce risk, but do not eliminate it. Safe procedures still remain the same for every type of account.
