In an interview with the media, Choi Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, said that SK hynix is considering building a new storage chip factory through a joint venture in order to reduce the risks posed by massive capital expenditures and excess capacity during the boom-and-bust cycles of the traditional industry.

  Choi Tae-won also warned that the current tight situation in the supply of storage chips will further intensify in 2027.
