There was a time when I sold an order that was quite large compared to usual. So before accepting it, I took a little extra time to review the buyer’s transaction history—not only looking at their completion rate, but also how long they had been trading, to avoid the situation where a brand-new account jumps into a big trade right from the start.
After they said the transfer had been made, I checked the bank and saw that the money had already arrived in full, with the correct content and the correct account number. So I confirmed and completed the order normally. A few hours later, that person messaged again saying they transferred by mistake and wanted me to refund them directly via a bank transfer, outside the app, for convenience.
I refused outright, because any request for a refund or adjustment must be handled through the proper Binance P2P channel. I wouldn’t make a separate personal bank transfer no matter how reasonable it sounded. I asked them to open a dispute with an Order ID if there really was a mistake, so Binance Support could review the entire transaction history and handle it according to the correct process.
In the end, they didn’t open any further disputes—maybe at first they were just testing whether I would agree to do things off-platform. From then on, I followed a very simple rule: if you trade through a platform, everything related must be resolved within that same platform.
