Today, while reading about Binance P2P to participate in Creatopad, a thought suddenly flashed in my mind: If we treat Binance P2P like a marketplace, then regular users are like people who occasionally come in to buy and sell a few items, while Merchants are like those who open their stalls almost every day. I began to wonder: is this “Merchant” actually just a label, or does it reflect a different role in how the P2P market operates?
I started from how P2P works. Binance describes it as a marketplace where users post advertisements with prices and payment methods; transactions are protected by escrow.
I tried to look at the Merchant not as just a badge.
Binance says that Verified Merchants have a verification badge, are included in the Merchant filter set, and may receive fee discounts and dedicated support. P2Pro is aimed at professional crypto trading units.
What’s notable is that Merchants still operate within P2P, but in the role of providing liquidity.
Wait—this doesn’t necessarily mean that Merchants always trade better. A badge is a signal verified by the platform, not proof that every transaction is risk-free.
Looking broader, I began to see Merchants as a layer for liquidity operations.
So when looking at a Merchant, what matters might not be the badge, but the transaction history behind it?
