Last weekend, I sat beside my younger cousin as she placed her first P2P order. She’d heard that buying through the exchange is faster than going to a cash-exchange shop. Before she hit the place order button, I made her pause and review the seller’s profile—what badges they have, the completion rate, how many transactions they’ve done—instead of just picking the first one that appeared.
After the order was placed, the seller messaged her very insistently, repeatedly asking “Have you transferred yet, have you transferred yet,” even though it had been less than a minute. My cousin had almost planned to quickly confirm that she’d paid just to wrap things up. I stopped her and explained that the money really has to be in my bank account before she can confirm—being pressured to do it isn’t the right basis.
After checking, I saw the funds hadn’t arrived yet. I told her to simply message again in the app’s chat box that she was waiting for confirmation from the bank; there was no need to explain anything further outside. A few minutes later, the money came through in full, and only then did both of us feel at ease to complete the order.
When we were done, I told her: if there’s ever a time you’re unsure or notice something looks off, just open a dispute and include the Order ID code in the app. Binance Support can handle it—no need to make assumptions or worry on your own.
