The night before the CPI release—how should you position for BTC, gold, and memory/storage? Is it an easy question or a death sentence?
Tomorrow night at 20:30, the U.S. July CPI data will hit the market.#美国7月CPI与PPI数据本周出炉
The market’s current style is extremely weird.
Institutional forecasts say core CPI year over year is expected to fall from 2.60% to 2.50%, and everyone is betting that the Fed will ease. But on the other side, Bitcoin is stuck around $64,000 and just won’t move up; overvalued memory/storage chips are shivering; even gold is holding back, preparing a big move.
What’s even more ironic?
It’s supposedly “good-news expectations,” yet the main funds are carrying the scythe and running overnight.
Isn’t this the same as the “500 billion yuan of good news traded for 130 billion yuan evaporating” scenario? On the surface it looks calm and peaceful, but in reality everyone is waiting for someone else to take over the bag.
