A quantum computer capable of breaking Ethereum’s cryptography does not exist yet. But do we really have to wait for it to arrive to prepare? For Vitalik Buterin, the answer is clearly no. Post-quantum security now plays a central role in the network’s projects. Alongside it, there’s also confidentiality and artificial intelligence. However, there’s no question of handing over control of the blockchain to an AI. The goal is much more concrete: helping developers verify that the protocol is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.
