Chinese humanoid robots have already captured the vast majority of global shipments. According to Smart Analytics Global data, in the first half of 2026, about 19,100 units were shipped worldwide, with over 97% coming from Chinese manufacturers—up by nearly three times year-on-year.
The key new development: ZhiYuan Robotics has overtaken Unitree to become the world’s No. 1. In the first half of the year, ZhiYuan shipped about 8,400 units, accounting for 44% of the global total; Unitree shipped about 5,900 units. Together, the two companies already account for roughly three-quarters of the global total.
An even bigger change is that robots are starting to shift from demonstrations and research into real-world applications. The share of shipments for industrial and commercial use has risen from about 50% a year ago to over 70% today.
