APECoin (APE) is the cryptocurrency of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection and ecosystem. Just like Bored Ape Yacht Club, APECoin is developed by Yuga Labs. APECoin was created on the Ethereum blockchain, using the ERC-20 token standard.
APE token functions as the governance and utility token of the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem. APECoin holders manage the ecosystem through a decentralized autonomous organization called APECoin DAO. APECoin also provides access to various special services of the ecosystem, such as blockchain games, events, etc. For third-party developers, the APE token is also a tool to participate in the ecosystem.
The total APECoin (APE) supply is limited to 1 billion tokens. APECoin, which was released on March 17, 2022, can be bought and sold for real money on cryptocurrency exchanges. Transactions can also be made in APE/TRY parity via Bitlo in Turkey.
